Well I think It’s almost time to take the snows off for the year and mount those 18's I got last year. How ever I still need new tires for them.

They wear 245/45R18's I want a tire with good rain traction and not too expensive. SO what would you buy?

Cup 2's, best bang for your buck;)

I just got a set of Continental ExtremeContact somethingorother for the M3. I wasn’t looking for those tires in particular but they received good reviews, and I got a whole set for $550! I drove it last weekend, and they felt good. I didn’t go to hard as it was a little wet.

BFG Sport Comp 2s. Thats what I have and I’m quite happy with the wet weather traction.

If it was the ExtremeContact DW tires, yeah, they are pretty decent. I had a set.

I’ve got those on my Mini. Pretty happy with them. Although they do get squirrelly at the limit, as compared to the Pilot Super Sports on the BMW.

I feel like that’s a bit of an over kill for the application..

I put General G-Max AS-03 on my E39 and have liked them so far. Normally they arent too bad on price about $100 and if need be they are all seasons which is a must for me since Ohio...

They’re on par with the Hankook V12's that came off I think. I had big plans to get nicer rubber for it, but I ran over 2 nails and had a throttle actuator go while I was on a road trip. So my tire budget took a beating.

preferably not nasty haha. just a reasonable cheap tire. this isn’t a sports car but I don;t want to sacrifice wet traction.

Conti dw extreme contact. Had a set on my S4, loved them. Tire rack and discount were marking them down a little bit ago too. Might still be able to find a deal on them.

So far i am, less noisier than the Hankooks I had up front (but those were a tad noisy). They feel planted and predictable when dry but havent put them to a real test yet as I put them on pretty recently and its Ohio, so it still hasnt made up its mind about the weather yet. I am putting them on the back tomorrow as this weekend looks like it might shape up to be nice. (had to get them from 2 different places since mine run different front and rear sizes and big price difference between the two on one site).

Wet I wouldnt say I have noticed a massive change yet since they are not on the back yet but definitely a difference, cut through the water better and turn in feels like there is more grip.

Looking on tireRack, the Firestone Indy 500s are supposed to be good now (not the wide ovals)

The BFG Sport Comp 2s are possible tires I’ll get for my FiST, but at 1/2 the price yours would cost lol. They have a $50 rebate (cash card) when you buy a set.

I think I’m sold on these then. I mean I’ll be running from mid-april to mid october. so they should be good for the 5 ish months a year I’ll even use them. I spent a decent chunk for my snow tires which get 7 to 8 months a year work.

Awesome and yep they should be, maybe even longer if need be. I have never heard a complaint about General Tire and alot of people that rallycross in my division use their snow tires. Plus they always have been reasonably priced with almost to if not on par performance with main or more expensive bands, so thats why I went with them.

my last Caddy had older general max tires and they were awful. but also at the end of their life. I hear nothing but good things about their newer models tho so i’m willing to give em a shot.
